Because no image of James Mackay is
known to exist, a composite has been
made to represent what he may have
looked like based on pictures of his
close family members. Every effort was
made to ensure that the likeness and
clothing used represent Mackay's era.
The image was created by Tad Browning.
The portrait is a digital overlay of James Mackay’s grandson, John
Barker and an unknown daughter. The shape of eyes, jaw and lips
were the same in both photos, discounting the softness of the
daughter’s jaw line. The jacket and cravat are from the 1800 French
time period.
